Overview

Herbal ABX is a traditional Chinese herbal formula traditionally used to help support the body's response to fire, damp-heat, and toxic heat — TCM patterns traditionally associated with redness, swelling, and warmth. Herbal ABX is designed to help clear heat and reduce swelling and redness. It may be used alone or alongside another formula.

Any suspected bacterial, viral, or fungal tissue concern should be evaluated and treated by a physician; do not delay or replace medical care with an herbal remedy. Contraindicated in cases of deficiency and coldness — use with caution for those with weak digestive systems. Contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing. Prescribed systemic therapies may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills — women taking antibiotics and birth control concurrently should use an additional method of contraception and consult their physician. Anyone with fever, headache, stiff neck, sore throat, vomiting, or mental confusion together should seek emergency medical care immediately, as these can be signs of a serious condition requiring urgent treatment.

— Huang Lian (Coptis) and Da Qing Ye (Isatis): traditionally used to help clear heat and support the body's natural defenses.

— Pu Gong Ying (Dandelion): traditionally used to help clear heat and support Liver function.

— Xian Feng Cao (Herba Bidentis) and Feng Wei Cao (Herba Pteris): traditionally used to help reduce heat, swelling, and dampness.

— Shu Wei Huang (Herba Rostellulariae) and Hu Yao Huang (Herba Leucas Mollissimae): traditionally used to help invigorate blood circulation and reduce inflammation.

— Ya She Huang (Herba Lippiae) and Pao Zai Cao (Herba Physalis Angulatae): traditionally used to help reduce inflammation.

— Liu Zhi Huang (Herba Solidaginis) and Cha Chi Huang (Herba Stellariae Aquaticae): traditionally used to help clear heat, detoxify, and reduce swelling.

Safety & Contraindications

1. Not an antibiotic; not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment of a diagnosed infection. Any suspected infection should be evaluated and treated by a physician.
2. Contraindicated in cases of deficiency and coldness — use with caution for those with weak digestive systems.
3. Contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing.
4. May decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills — use an additional method of contraception and consult your physician.
5. Seek emergency medical care immediately for fever, headache, stiff neck, sore throat, vomiting, and mental confusion occurring together.
6. Never stop or adjust a prescription medication, including prescribed anti-infective medications, without consulting your physician.

Dosage & Directions

Standard: 3–4 capsules three times daily on an empty stomach with warm water. Take with meals for sensitive stomachs.

Clinical notes: Those with constipation are traditionally advised to first address it with Gentle Lax (Excess). Following a course of prescribed anti-infective therapies, Nourish is traditionally used to help restore balance.

Supplementary formulas: For advanced immune defense support, this formula is traditionally paired with Herbal AVR. For ear, nose, and throat comfort, it is traditionally paired with Herbal ENT. For general inflammation and swelling, it is traditionally paired with Resolve (AI) or Astringent Complex.

Holistic Nutrition & Lifestyle

Nutrition: Spicy, fried, and greasy foods are traditionally reduced. Cool or cold-natured foods such as watermelon, celery, and cucumber are traditionally encouraged. Adequate vitamin C and plenty of water are traditionally encouraged.

Lifestyle: Consistent, adequate sleep is traditionally encouraged to support overall immune wellness.
