Blossom (Phase 3) – TCM Herbal Formula for Female Infertility, Ovulation Support, LH Surge & Kidney Yang Tonification
Blossom (Phase 3)™
TCM herbal formula for female infertility — ovulatory phase formula (Phase 3 of 4) — tonifies Kidney yang; replenishes Kidney jing (essence); mildly moves blood in the lower jiao; promotes egg maturation and ovulation; enhances LH surge; regulates endocrine system; prepares uterus for conception
⚠️ Discontinue use when the patient becomes pregnant. Contains Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), which invigorates blood circulation — patients on anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapies such as Coumadin (warfarin) should use with caution or not at all due to higher risk of bleeding and bruising.
CLINICAL APPLICATIONS
* Female infertility — ovulatory phase formula (Phase 3): use during the week of ovulation to promote egg maturation, enhance the LH surge, and facilitate movement of the egg into the fallopian tube
Four-phase fertility protocol: Blossom (Phase 3) is the third of four formulas designed to treat female infertility by targeting each phase of the menstrual cycle. Phase 3 (ovulatory phase) is when Kidney yin is turning into yang and ovulation occurs with a peak in temperature. The primary treatment strategy is to help eggs mature and promote ovulation using Kidney yang tonic herbs that enhance the surge of luteinizing hormone (LH), which then stimulates ovulation. Mild blood-moving herbs are added to facilitate the movement of the egg into the fallopian tube.
Key herb-level clinical data:
— Suo Yang (Herba Cynomorii / Cynomorium / Lock Yang): traditionally used for infertility, low libido, lack of Kidney jing (essence), and Kidney yang deficiency; tonifies Kidney yang; promotes ovulation
— Yin Yang Huo (Herba Epimedii / Epimedium / Horny Goat Weed): tonifies Kidney yang; promotes ovulation; endocrine stimulant — increases production and secretion of corticosterone, cortisol, and testosterone
— Lu Jiao Shuang (Cornu Cervi Degelatinatum / Deer Antler Gelatin Residue): tonifies Kidney yang; promotes ovulation
— Xu Duan (Radix Dipsaci / Dipsacus / Teasel Root): tonifies Kidney yang; promotes ovulation
— Ba Ji Tian (Radix Morindae Officinalis / Morinda / Indian Mulberry): tonifies Kidney yang; promotes ovulation; endocrine stimulant — increases production and release of hormones
— Tu Si Zi (Semen Cuscutae / Cuscuta / Dodder Seed): tonifies both Kidney yin and yang — essential herb for treating infertility; balances the formula
— Xiao Hui Xiang (Fructus Foeniculi / Fennel Seed): warms the Kidney and the womb in preparation for pregnancy
— Yi Mu Cao (Herba Leonuri / Leonurus / Motherwort): moves blood; increases blood supply to the ovaries; induces contraction of muscles pulling the ovaries closer to the fallopian tubes; facilitates movement of the egg into the fallopian tube; stimulating effect on the uterus to prepare for conception
— Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis / Angelica Sinensis / Dong Quai): tonifies blood; regulatory effect on menstruation — stimulating and inhibiting; beneficial before, during, and after menstruation
— Shu Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata / Prepared Rehmannia): supports Kidney yin to enhance yang tonic effect and prevent deficiency fire; endocrine stimulant — inhibits negative feedback signals to the pituitary gland to increase hormone production
— Gou Qi Zi (Fructus Lycii / Lycium / Wolfberry / Goji): supports Kidney yin to enhance yang tonic effect; stimulating effect on the uterus to prepare for conception
— Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba / White Peony): supports Kidney yin to enhance yang tonic effect; prevents deficiency fire from yang tonics
— Shan Zhu Yu (Fructus Corni / Cornus / Cornelian Cherry): supports Kidney yin to enhance yang tonic effect; prevents deficiency fire from yang tonics
