Overview
Arm Support is a traditional Chinese herbal formula traditionally used to help ease discomfort and support healthy movement in the shoulder, elbow, and wrist. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, arm discomfort, stiffness, and reduced range of motion are traditionally associated with qi and blood stagnation in the channels and collaterals of the upper body. Arm Support is formulated to help activate healthy qi and blood circulation, open the channels and collaterals, and support comfortable movement.
Clinical Applications & Benefits
Arm Support is traditionally used to help support:
- Shoulder comfort and healthy range of motion, including stiffness and limited mobility
- Elbow comfort, including soreness from repetitive strain or overuse
- Wrist comfort and flexibility, including stiffness from repetitive movement
- General arm discomfort, tightness, and reduced range of motion
People dealing with shoulder tightness, elbow soreness, or wrist discomfort from repetitive activity or injury traditionally turn to formulas like this one to help support natural recovery and comfortable movement.

Dosage & Directions
Standard dosage: 3–4 capsules three times daily as needed, taken on an empty stomach with two tall glasses of warm water. May increase to 6–8 capsules every 4–6 hours during the early stages of acute discomfort, reducing back to 3–4 capsules three times daily as symptoms ease. For ongoing support, 2 capsules twice daily on an empty stomach.
Clinical notes: This formula is traditionally used alongside acupuncture and gentle movement therapy for optimal support. Cold packs are traditionally recommended in the first 24–48 hours for acute discomfort, while warm packs are traditionally used for longer-standing stiffness to help support circulation.
Supplementary formulas: For neck and shoulder discomfort, this formula is traditionally paired with Neck & Shoulder (AC). For soft-tissue recovery support, it is traditionally paired with Flex (MLT). For more intense acute discomfort, it is traditionally paired with Herbal ANG.
Holistic Nutrition & Lifestyle
Nutrition: Whole grains, seafood, dark green vegetables, and nuts are traditionally recommended to help support healthy nerve function and muscle relaxation. Adequate calcium and potassium intake is traditionally recommended to help support healthy muscle comfort.
Lifestyle: Keeping the affected area warm and protected from cold or drafts is traditionally recommended. Gentle, regular movement of the affected joint is traditionally encouraged to help maintain healthy range of motion, as prolonged stillness may make later movement more difficult. A warm bath with Ai Ye (mugwort) or Epsom salt for about 30 minutes is traditionally used to help relax muscles and support healthy circulation. Paying attention to sleep position is also traditionally recommended, as poor positioning may contribute to shoulder and neck stiffness.
Case Studies
The following reflect individual practitioner experiences and traditional use; results vary and are not guarantees of outcome for any individual.
"R.T., age 48, experienced right elbow discomfort for four months with progressive difficulty using the hand and arm, consistent with a qi and blood stagnation pattern. After two bottles of Arm Support, he reported that nearly all arm function had returned, with only minor discomfort during exercise."
"B.L., age 25, experienced left shoulder discomfort for one month with significantly limited range of motion from repetitive work activity, consistent with a local qi and blood stagnation pattern. After nine days on Arm Support, he reported no shoulder discomfort and a full return of range of motion."
"D.S., age 65, experienced fluctuating neck, shoulder, and lower back discomfort with limited range of motion from prolonged desk work, consistent with a damp-cold stagnation pattern. After combining Arm Support with a complementary formula, she reported enhanced daily flexibility, improved movement, and a meaningful decrease in overall traditional discomfort."
