Overview
GI Care (UC)™ is a premium traditional Chinese herbal formula traditionally used to help support deep intestinal lining comfort, long-standing bowel regularity, and lower digestive stability when no acute irritation is present. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these chronic patterns of abdominal sensitivity are traditionally associated with damp-heat lodging in the Large Intestine, often stemming from long-standing metabolic or Liver-Spleen disharmony. This formula is designed exclusively as a supportive traditional dietary complement alongside professional gastrointestinal care.
⚠️ Important: Contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing, and in cases of diarrhea due to Spleen qi deficiency or Kidney yang deficiency. Not appropriate for serious complications such as toxic colitis, toxic megacolon, massive hemorrhage, or free perforation — these require immediate medical and often surgical attention. Certain over-the-counter or prescription antidiarrheal drugs may worsen these conditions and contribute to toxic megacolon; do not combine without guidance from a qualified healthcare provider.
Clinical Applications & Benefits
* Intestinal comfort and mucosal lining support during intervals of long-standing lower digestive sensitivity.
* Promotes natural bowel regularity, tissue soothing, and binding mechanics during chronic loose stools.
* Supports overall gastrointestinal stability, intestinal comfort, and traditional channel harmony.
This advanced astringent formula is traditionally distinguished from GI Care II, which focuses on temporary sudden digestive imbalances. Anyone navigating ongoing or long-standing lower abdominal sensitivity should work closely with a qualified healthcare professional.

Safety & Contraindications
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing, and in cases of diarrhea due to Spleen qi deficiency or Kidney yang deficiency.
- Not appropriate for serious complications such as toxic colitis, toxic megacolon, massive hemorrhage, or free perforation — seek immediate medical care, as these often require surgery.
- Certain OTC or prescription antidiarrheal drugs may worsen these conditions and contribute to toxic megacolon; do not combine without a qualified healthcare provider's guidance.
- Anyone managing ongoing or long-standing lower abdominal sensitivity should work closely with a gastroenterologist, and only add an herbal formula with their knowledge.
Dosage & Directions
Standard dosage: 3–4 capsules three times daily on an empty stomach with warm water. During times of intense urgency, this may be increased to 8–10 capsules three times daily for no more than four days, then reduced back to 3–4 capsules daily as symptoms ease. For maintenance, 2 capsules daily is traditionally used.
Supplementary formulas: For advanced localized cooling and tissue tissue comfort, this formula is traditionally paired with Resolve (AI) and Astringent Complex. For active intestinal infection, use GI Care II instead. For hemorrhoid comfort, it is traditionally paired with GI Care (HMR). For stress-related digestive flares, it is traditionally paired with Calm. Once lower intestinal stability is established, longer-term Spleen qi support is traditionally continued with GI Tonic.
Holistic Nutrition & Lifestyle
Nutrition: Gentle, easily digested foods such as bananas, cooked vegetables, brown rice, and yogurt are traditionally encouraged, while sugar, alcohol, caffeine, dairy, spicy foods, and processed meats are traditionally reduced. Any dietary changes for an ongoing digestive condition should be discussed with a gastroenterologist or registered dietitian.
Lifestyle: Identifying and avoiding personal trigger foods, along with adequate rest and stress management, is traditionally recommended to support long-term comfort.
Case Studies
The following reflect individual practitioner experiences and traditional use; results vary and are not guarantees of outcome for any individual. All cases involved concurrent gastroenterology care.
"A woman with a long history of long-standing lower digestive sensitivity and fatigue, consistent with a damp-heat and Kidney deficiency pattern, added GI Care (UC) to her routine alongside her gastroenterologist's ongoing care and reported gradually more comfortable, well-formed bowel movements over the following month."
"A 49-year-old woman with a long history of long-standing lower digestive sensitivity, consistent with a damp-heat pattern, took GI Care (UC) for about a month alongside her medical care and reported significant improvement, with the improvement holding at a follow-up a year later."
